16th February 2009,Tate Mordern

Hello everyone, last Monday I had a very exciting day. In the morning I met a very good friend. I met Mark in the coffee shop near to St Paul's Cathedral, we visited Tate modern, but I personally didn't like much. I found the place empty and very poor. So we decided to visit the British Museum. After a long walk we had the opportunity to see the phenomenal roof of the Museum. I find the place amazing, and the building is very attractive. After a tour around the Museum, Mark and I had lunch in a very nice restaurant. I had yellow prawns with egg, and Mark had something very similar. The food was incredibly tasty, and different that I am use to eating. Mark then invited me to the cinema. The movie was very nice, "Slumdog millionaire", I was told before that it was an incredible movie, and I really enjoyed watching it and recommend it. At the end of the day, we had a drink in a pub nearby, and we chatted for a while.

I am very happy in know someone like him, I could see that is very friendly and gentle, and the way he treated me was very kind. It was a very nice day. I look forward to seeing him again. I definitely made a new friend:)

Introduction to the second semester and results from my first period.

Hello everyone, today I had a very exciting day - was the first day of my second semester of my degree. In the morning I was introduced to Economics, I personally enjoyed the lesson and Tristan my teacher seems to be very good, helpful and he has the capability to maintain us students focused on his lesson, possibly because of the bad economic situation that the country is suffering. I am personally afraid of what can happen. In the middle of the day I had tutorial, and guess what? I was able to get the marks of my four modules. The best thing is the fact that I did quite well. I passed all the modules. I am very happy, and seems like good friends and of course my family are too. In the afternoon I was introduced to People in Organisations with Victoria. She is very friendly too, and seems like we will have a good time during her lectures. In addition I also have english support but due to the half term I decided to not attend.
In conclusion I had an excellent day. It is good to get good results after a period of hard work and dedication. I am really determined to succeed. Therefore I will continue to keep a low profile always and stay focused. Besides I also would like to thank David and Alexander, for the help and support given, and for both of them a huge thank you for the time that you two spent with me.

Holiday of my first Semester. What I have been doing...

Hi everyone, in the last two weeks, I have been on holidays from Uni, therefore I have decided to join a gym in clapham in order to entertain myself. Today was my first time, in Soho gyms, and I personally enjoyed it, was fun, and I also had the company of my friend Stephen who helped with the machines. Regarding my work at Garfunkel's I have decided to work a few extra days in order to not get so bored at home. However due to the bad economic situation that the country is suffering, we have been very quiet period, and not getting much customers this week, so I wasnt able to work so many hours as I wish. This week I also had a chance to meet a new friend, he is so fun and friendly. We david and I call him Jazzer, he is a friend that I want to get know a bit more, because he is so secretive and doesnt like to tell us much. By the way he just came online right now. I am going to start my questionary very soon:)That all for now folks.

My trip to America, Orlando and Walt Disney

Last month 12 of December I went to America. Since I arrived in the UK I made a decision that once I finished my degree I would like to move to US and there continue my studies while working part-time. A month ago I had an opportunity to visit Orlando. I had been there for only 4 days but I personally enjoyed every minute of my entire vacation. Orlando is a beautiful city of Florida known because of Walt Disney and Universal studios. Florida is known the world over for its citrus crops too. People in there are very friendly warm and in my opinion very open LOL. They are the type of people that want to know everything but basically then don't have any common sense, there are times that I wonder if I really want to join them LOL. Relative to my trip I visited both Walt Disney and Universal Studios. I found both places amazing I had a lot of fun even though I was by my self. From my trip I was able to expand my knowledge with regards to tourism experiences, learn a new culture, meet new people and to think about my personal life.
In addition I also decided that one day possibly this year I would came back there once again, but this time take someone special with me. San Francisco is a place that I would love to visit, people interested, please contact me ;) Then I will make a short list and decide the best one to join me.LOL. I am going to post some pictures of Orlando. That all for today..

Hi good evening!!
This Week is the end of my first semester of my degree, I personally had dedicated a lot of time on my modules in order to successfully achieve my goals. I made an accounting exam, an Law exam and also a presentation for MPD. Relatively to the exams it went alright,besides my presentation was a bit weak, nor because I didnt know what to say but because I am extremely shy, and I loss control of my conduct very easy in stressful situations. Therefore, I have in mind to improve my skills on that area, and I am aware that I will have a lot of opportunities since my second semester that start in two weeks time is base on presentation and reports.
In regards to my day I had a very busy one!! In the morning I had to write a plead letter to the Human resources of Garfunkel's. The reason why I wrote the letter its because I am not conformed with the sacked of my assistant manager, I personally hope my letter will help him, (fingers cross xxx). In the afternoon I have been cleaning all my flat, I could not believe how dirty and mess it was:) after an hour and half I was able to walk in my room with taking care where I am stepping my foot. LOL
At 5 o'clock I went to work, and guessing what? The restaurant was crowded:( shame I was not feeling well and then I had to put up with a huge section and some starving people:). I just hope I did not got the mystery shopper.:) 10 steps of hospitality industry ... I left work at 11;30 and once I got home I realise that I did not have anything to do, and even to talk or chat too. therefore I had decided to continue this my blog. Basically this is resume of my week and a bit of my day. Today I also will post some slideshows, they are form Portugal, my hometown .That all folks....

Week 8/ 48 hours to go before to my interview...

Hi everyone!!! Today I had completed the last task of my MPD assignment. And to be honest I am a quite please for that. Today I also have been in college and I had linked my CV, Vark test result and MOD application for to my e- portefolio template.
In regards to my last task I was asked to state in a particular order 10 different things that I have to consider before an interview. I personally found out this task is very important because it may help me to improve my organisation skills when applying for a job.
Planning and organisation are two crucial aspects that need to be expanded and gained with experience and years. Taking notice of both aspects when applying for a job increases my chances of giving a greater impression to future employers. Therefore the chances of being recruited will possibly increase.

Week 7 Creating the Perfect CV & Video biography

Hello everyone!! In todays session I had created my CV. I was asked to create an account in http://www.reed.co.uk/, and therefore build my personal CV. I personally find this task very important because, CVs are crucial when applyling for a job.
A CV is the first opportunity that I have to make my case to a recruiter telling them why I am suitable for the role for which I am applying. Therefore I have to make sure I have a well organise, and creative CV, in order to persuade my possible future employer and increase the posiblity of being taken in while applying for a job.
In todays session I also had made my video biography, to be honest it was a quite stressful experience but in the end everything went all right.
After that I had completed the task 13, important information in relation with my academic course referee; task 14, a covering letter and lastly task 15 which is about possible questions that I may be asked during an interview.
In summary all these 3 tasks are crucial in helping to paint a picture of me for any future employer, they are the first step towards being chosen as a prospective candidate for any job.
